Holly Mignonne Allen

Holly Allen is originally from Detroit, Michigan, but currently resides in the NY metropolitan area with her husband and nine-year-old son.  Holly has worked for over 20 years as a teacher and school administrator. She started her career in 2000 serving in many positions including, Early Childhood Lead Teacher in the public and private sector, Director of K-8 Programs at TAC for Architecture and Community Development, Architectural Designer for Educational Facilities, Senior Director of Childcare Programs at The Salvation Army, Culture and Climate Chair at Whitney Houston Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, Executive Director and founder of All City Kids Community Development, LLC., and Supervisor of Academic Intervention Services at the WYMCA of the Oranges.

 

Holly’s unique perspective on education stems from her experiences as a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, as a private school teacher, working with underserved populations, as an education administrator, and as a parent. Holly served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committees for the Nyack Public Schools, the East Orange Education Association, and the Essex County Education Association. She has devoted her career to designing and maintaining educational environments where all stakeholders feel valued, motivated, and celebrated.

 

Holly earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and minor in Music Performance at Florida A & M University, a Master of Arts in Teaching with specializations in Educational Technology and Reading at National University, a Certification in Early Childhood Education at Kean University, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration at Grand Canyon University, a Certification in Educational Facilities Management at Rutgers University, and a Certification in Urban Planning and Design, at Harvard University.
